Sewing Progress

Last night, I decided to work on my 1920's dress, which will be adapted from a commercial pattern. The cutting out is going well so far, I have to go back in and trim everything, then take the time to sew all the bits together. It will be interesting, to say the least.

mock-up will be made out of, used to be a shower curtain.

Sadly, I won't be attending my friend's party on Saturday. Instead, I was scheduled to go to a ball, and I hadn't realized it. My friend was very sweet about it, though I'm sorry to miss the opportunity to get dolled-up in a 1920's dress. He said that perhaps my brother, he, and I will go see the Great Gatsby so I could wear my dress. I'm extremely excited about that!

A 1920's Dress

Preparing for a party is never easy. For me, I always need the perfect dress, then everything else falls into place. This time, I'll be making that (hopefully) perfect dress.

I'm going to a graduation/birthday party in less than two weeks. It's Great Gatsby themed. The invitation said costumes are optional. Therefore, I'm venturing into a new time period to make a dress that looks somewhat like the dresses of the 1920's. If it doesn't turn out so hot, at least I can claim it was 1920's-inspired.
